For those of you who read my post on making money writing articles I thought it might be an idea to say a little more in respect of Ezinearticles. Ezinearticles is without doubt the big daddy when it comes to article directories as you probably gathered from my last post.

But quality is the keyword here, I can honestly say that a good chunk of all of my traffic has been generated through ezinearticles, I use articles to send traffic to my own websites and to affiliate offers, which I’m promoting & I’ve made quite a bit of money in the process, but be warned, things are changing.

Here’s what I mean: I’ve been a member of Ezinearticles for around 4 years, I also have Platinum author status which entitles me to quicker acceptance etc. In those 4 years I’ve seen a lot of changes but none as stringent as now. I’m not sure when you will see this post so let me say that at the time of writing it is March 2011.

I don’t keep track of changes in Google antilogarithms like some online marketers, I tend to just go with the flow, however with the reported (latest) changes to Google things do seem to be changing, there seems to be a knock on effect throughout the internet, even down to EZA.

For some years I’ve written some articles and had some written for me (for niche marketing), I screened all the articles before they went off to Ezinearticles, submitted and they got approved..Easy, however over the last week 6 out of the last 8 articles I submitted were refused acceptance for reasons such as to many words in an anchor text, not enough quality content, etc., etc.

All of these articles were written for me, & on screening all looked acceptable, but it seems Ezinearticles quality filter is becoming more and more stringent.

Quality, Quality, Quality, Is the name of the game. The thought behind this article is this, the days of filler content & cheap articles is about to die. Only good quality & informative content will survive. If you can write a good article that connects with the reader, then there’s a good chance of making a very good income writing content and articles for the marketers out there who have their finger on the pulse and already know where things are going.

Can You Make $1000 a Day Online?

Affiliate marketing is by far the easiest way to make money online, it’s also the quickest way to make money online as a beginner. I’m sure you’ve read all the fancy sales letters put together by the established marketers (otherwise known as Guru’s) which tell you how you can make $1000 a day or more, maybe you even bought a few of their make money online courses (don’t worry your not alone). The truth is most of what you read is just a hyped up version of reality.

Easy Money Online

I stand by the fact that making money as an affiliate is still one of the easiest ways to make money online but you need to be realistic, affiliate marketing is like a business, it takes time to make day job killing amounts of money, but you can and will do it if you stick to a plan.

Affiliate marketing is the foundation of any successful online business, anybody selling stuff online needs affiliates to promote their product, think of it this way: If you were a product owner without any affiliates you have to work very hard to get your sales message to all corners of the internet, in fact it’s virtually impossible. But if you had affiliate, lets say 100, then you are multiplying your sales potential by 100.

Affiliates often make up to 75% of the sales price which is very good for the affiliate, but it’s also great for the product owner, even though he or she only gets 25% of the sale (In this example), that’s still 25% of a sale which without the affiliate he or she would not have made.

Affiliate marketing-How It works

There are lots of affiliate programs online, but to begin with Clickbank is usually a great place to start as they carry a huge number of items for you to market in every niche you can think of, Clickbank is also great because affiliate accounts are free and easy to sign up for, plus you can guarantee you will get paid.

How you make money as an affiliate:

This is just the basics,

#1. Sign up for a free account

#2. Find a product in a nice you want to promote

#3. Click the big green button (with promote written on it)

#4. Take the affiliate link (Called Hoplink) and start promoting

Like I said that’s just the basic outline of what affiliate marketing is, and just to clarify Hoplink of affiliate link contains all of your details, so if someone clicks on your affiliate link to visit a vendors sales page they take with them something called a cookie (tracking code), the cookie stays attached to that potential customers computer for weeks or months (I think Clickbank is 60 days). So even if the person who clicked your link decides not to buy the product and leaves the site, but then 3 weeks later reads something else about the product, visits the site again and makes a purchase, You still get the commission, what could be better.

There are of course lots of ways to make money online, many of which I’ve either tried or heard of, and I’m sure there are many more that I’ve completely missed, but for me the easiest way of making money online is through affiliate marketing. So, having decided which item to market you now have to decide how to market your offer, (your affiliate link), there are lots of ways in which you can get your affiliate offer in front of potential customers, people use all sorts of tricks and methods, some of which might even bend the rules a little. Having tried almost everything I’ve come across and in my opinion article marketing is still one of the best and indeed cheapest ways to make money online, but it needs to be done right.

Lets make things real easy, forget almost everything you’ve read so far, while your at it you can forget about 99% of article directories too, all you really need is Ezinearticles to make money writing articles. Let me explain why you should concentrate on Ezinearticles.

Google loves Ezinearticles

Google loves Ezinearticles for a number of reasons, most notably because they don’t accept junk, all articles submitted have to be unique and all articles are checked by human editorial staff before being accepted, when I say human, I don’t mean that Aliens normally check the articles, what I’m getting at is most article directories use automated editorial thus allowing junk through which devalues the directory in the eyes of Google.

Another reason to use Ezinearticles as a means of making money writing articles has a lot to do with their linking structure, for example if you do a little keyword research and find a good keyword with good monthly global searches and competing websites of below 100k you stand a very good chance of hitting page 1 of Google within days of your article being accepted.

I guess I should have done a little more research into naming my blog ‘Home Income Profit System’ as the name would appear to be the same as a company offering a ready made internet business, which ultimately turns out to be another scam.

I’d like to make it crystal clear to all my readers that this blog is in no way linked to the said company or it’s dealings, I’m really only mentioning this shady business opportunity to distance myself and my blog, and I can assure you that you will not catch me talking about it again.

Look, let’s be honest, whatever you do to make money is a business and all businesses need initial planning. If you plan your business you really can make money online. There are lots of ways of making more money, but this blog is dedicated to those of you who want to make money online.

Do You Want To Make Money Online?

Everybody wants to make more money, who wouldn’t want to make more money?, especially today with the whole world in financial meltdown. So where do you start?.. The Internet of course, it’s massive, it’s part of our everyday life and everybody makes money online don’t they?.

Well… No actually they don’t, you see there are millions of people who make lots of money online, but there are far more people chasing the dream and failing miserably. The make money online industry is huge, everywhere you look you will find a website offering to let you into there secret, a secret so powerful that you’ll be rich within months. The truth is most of these so called home income profit systems or online profit methods are little more than scams.

Why you’ll FAIL

The only one making money is the guy selling you the can’t fail course on ‘How To Make Money Online’, believe me I’ve fallen for more than a few scams myself, even today after 3+ years I still get sidetracked and suckered in by some of the better websites.

It’s only natural to get carried away with the whole easy money online thing because we want to believe, some of the better sales pages are so good that they literally plant a seed in your head, you can picture yourself cashing the cheques before you finish the sales letter, and then reality kicks you in the gut (usually after you paid out).

But here’s the good bit:

Although the internet is full of make money online scams, the truth is you really can make money online, it’s true, I’ve done it, I still do, so to thousands of other people, for me the easiest way to make money online is by promoting other peoples products and taking a commission, for those of you who don’t already know, this process is called ‘Affiliate Marketing’.

With goal setting out of the way, it’s time to get down to the good bit’s, yes you guessed right, this is where we talk about actually making money. If you’ve tried making money online before but failed then this little article might be right up your street.

Making money online can be as easy or as hard as you want to make it, if your anything like me then you’ll be looking for the easy solution, so lets start at the bare bones of making money online.

Your Customer

To be successful at making money online you need to identify a target audience, you need to be able to identify what your target audience are looking for, and most importantly what they will buy.

Finding a target audience isn’t really to difficult when you no how, and I’ll be totally honest here, when I first got started I messed this point up time and time again, fortunately for me I identified a market purely by chance which I made a lot of money from. I was lucky, if I hadn’t been lucky, chances are I would of given up trying to make money online a long time ago.

So How Do You find a target market?
It’s not hard and you probably already know what I’m going to say.. Yes Keyword research.

The term Keyword Research made me shiver back when I started, I had no real idea how to do it, I didn’t want to spend time doing it, to be honest I found it boring and tedious. I spent a fortune on software tools to do it for me, but I didn’t really no how to get the best out of the tools so gave up on that too.

Keyword Research The Easy Way

Perhaps your the same, maybe the thought of doing your own keyword research makes you want to click on the back button right now,.. Wait, before you run for the hills let me tell you that once you know how to do it the easy way, you’ll actually begin to enjoy the process,.. Really!

With the right keyword you can tap into any market you like, even the big ones like ‘Weight Loss’ or ‘Make Money’, of course that doesn’t mean you can go after the broad keywords I just mentioned, what you need to do is go after a subsection of these huge market or any market you like.

basically what you need is a search term which has lots of global monthly searches with a low number of competing websites, you also need to make sure that the first page of Google for your chosen phrase isn’t loaded up with high PR authority sites. When first putting together your own home income profit system one of the most important things to factor in is goal setting, of course we talked about goal setting in my last post, but I think it’s worth just clarifying exactly how important goal setting is if your ever going to succeed.

It took me a long time to realise this tiny little point, I bought into the usual spin right from the start, and it held me back no end. So let me just say this, If you can get this right, now, you can go all the way.

Setting Goals You Can Keep

Goal setting needs to be realistic, you need to set achievable goals. I’m sure you’ve read all the usual spin, you know, the guru’s telling you that you’ll be able to make a couple of grand by the end of your first week and then go on to make eye watering amounts of money before the month is up.

Lies

The thing Is, most of what you read is rubbish, if you set yourself unrealistic goals your always going to fail, & if you keep failing, well then you’ll just give up.

So here’s how it needs to work. First off you need to set yourself a goal you can keep, for this example we will concentrate on making your first $100 a week, if you can get to $100 a week, then it’s relatively easy to scale this figure up to $100 a day.

As my first post I thought I’d get straight down to what’s important to most of us, Yes making money. I’ve been making money online for around 3 years, sometimes I make a lot and then other times, well just bit’s here and there. 

I have to say that when I first got into this whole internet marketing thing I really thought I was going to do little work and make a fortune almost overnight, How wrong I was!. Getting caught up in all the latest sure fire guru launches pulled me in about six different directions at a time, I really had no idea who to listen to and which method to use.

Three years on, with a lot of hard work under my belt, not to mention the steep learning curve I have achieved some of what I set out to do, so now & only if your interested I’m going to tell you how to start making money online, only without the tedious long hours and ridiculous expense.

With so much rubbish about it really is hard to know what works, you could spend an absoloute fortune on learning how to make money online (I have).

$100-$200 a day

But if you can get past all the rubbish it’s really not that hard. The most important rule to take into account when putting together your own home income profit system is goal setting, & I mean realistic goal setting, it’s all very well thinking big, & thinking big can be good but we all have to start somewhere. For this example we are going to talk about how to make $100-$200 a day. I know that doesn’t sound like a lot when you compare the figure to everything you read on the latest glossy sales page, but this figure is achievable and once you get to $100 a day, there’s no stopping you.
